Places to Visit in Agra- The city of Agra to the North of India is commonly associated worldwide with its historic architecture and the ancient heritage it is harboring. Agra, which is the city of Taj Mahal, the most attractive touristic place of the world, welcomes many visitors every year. Agra gives you room for a number of adventurous places to be investigated beyond the Taj Mahal. From now, we will asses the prominent tourist spots in Agra, top tourist destinations of Agra.

1. Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site of the synonym of love is, canonically, must go. It is one of the most recognizable sites in the world as it is distinguished from the others by the clean white-marble appearance of the structure and it is adorned with the most outstanding carvings.

2. Agra Fort

The red sandstone fortification which holds the name Agra Fort and is very regarded by UNESCO as a World Heritage site was just the aristocratic palace of the Mughal rulers. Mughal architectural style gems such as excellently constructed palaces, mosques, and gardens are displayed in the fort with breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal.

3. Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri – the sixteenth-century city of Agra was built by Emperor Akbar. It is an exceptionally carefully conserved urban area which is located only outside the city. Marvels of the royal architecture of Akbar’s reign are Panch Mahal, Jama Masjid, and one of its majestic gateways, the Buland Darwaza.

4. Mehtab Bagh

Mehtab Bagh, which happens to be on the other side of the Yamuna River, puts people in a relaxed position of the Taj Mahal. It is a peaceful ambiance where visitors are relaxed betwixt absorbing the sublime beauty of the the distant sunset glories from the Taj.

5. Jama Masjid

Apart from Jama Mosque of Agra, which is India’s biggest mosque. It was built by him – Shah Jahan – and that stunning royal building was filled with intricate ornaments and rich courtyard, displaying a splendid embodiment of Mughal architecture.

6. Akbar’s Tomb, Sikandra

It is in the Tomb of Akbar the Great where we notice one of the best representations of Mughal architectural designs. The mortuary is a large garden with a wonderful doorway, which leads to a simple space, with the main part being the tomb that is made of fine material and has the most beautiful inlays.

7. Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb

The mausoleum is famous for inlay work with precious marble, which means that the monument is often called the “Baby Taj”. As a precursor of the Taj Mahal, it emphasizes the craftsmanship of those times in the design. It is a lively edifice straddling the banks of the Yamuna River, which stands by the greenery environment.

8. Chini-ka-Rauza

Conspicuous by its uniqueness is Chini-ka-Rauza, one of the less recognized monuments, devoted to Shaykh Allama Afzal Khan Mullah, an eminent writer, and poet. Its amazing thin Persian glazed tile work particularly inspires.

9. Sikandra Fort

Akbar’s tomb is at the Sikandra Fort which is very close to the Sikandra Fort, the final resting place of Akbar. Inside the site is a great crystal-be-held marble and sandstone tomb topped by wonderful verdant shrubbery.

10. Mughal Heritage Walk

The Mughal Heritage Walk is in a quiet and scenic pedestrian path by the Yamuna River that offers a breathtaking glimpse of some of the not as famous Mughal structures.

For the people who love history and the part of Mughal opulence, Agra is the place to be. Its expansive seemingly endless offerings of historical and constructive marvels makes it enjoyable to visit.
